Default Crippling RA build for fun

Basically, I was looking at Grenth's Grasp the other day and wondered why I didn't use it more often. What’s not to love about crippling on demand? Thus, I decided to make a build around spreading crippling as much as possible. I chose Paragon over a ranger for two reasons. One, a paragon skill bar looks better without an elite attack skill. And two, I didn't feel like my ranger could put out the crippling quite as fast. Here's what I came up with:

P/d
Spear mastery: 12+1+1=14
Wind prayers: 12

Equipment: Icy Spear, Shield with enchanted mods

Swift Javelin
Barbed Spear
Spear of Redemption
Lyssa's Haste
Natural Healing
Pious Restoration
Grenth's Grasp
Res Signet

Cons: Lyssa's Haste probably isn't the best skill, but I think it's my only source of energy gain between the two classes. I've contemplated dropping it for another adrenaline attack skill, but there have been times when the run buff was dead useful. I also lack an IAS. I could use whirling charge, but I don't think I have the energy to support it.

Pros: This build can keep four foes permanently crippled and most of them bleeding. I think it does this faster and more effectively than a cripshot ranger or a cripslash warrior could. Why would I want crippling slash at six adrenaline when I do the same thing for two? As for the cripshot Ranger, I’d say they’re pretty even. The ranger build has interrupts and poison, but swift javelin can be dropped for disrupting throw and poison isn’t that much better than bleeding. The ranger could bring Lighting reflexes as an IAS, but that’s only up a third of the time and I think this build would do more damage overall with the faster attack speed of spears and the higher mastery levels (14 vs 10). Also, Grenth’s Grasp cripples for twice as long as Crippling Shot. This build has light condition removal, and crazy good hex removal.

To sum up: This build is mostly for fun, and to give my paragon a build to run in RA when he doesn’t want to have to bother shouting. I think it’s at least as good as, if not better than, the D/p and R/p condition builds you see floating around RA. And there are few things more amusing than turning a charging warrior into a limping one, except perhaps watching a monk trying to limp across the map to heal said warrior.

What do you guys think?

You serious? d/p 12 +1 +1 wind, 12 spear. this build resquires way too much energy for a p/ primary

A dervish would have mysticism and less damage. Woo-hoo. I really don’t find myself having a lot of energy problems as long as I don’t spam swift javelin on recharge. It’s primarily there so that one can cripple with their first attack and so that you can get through Guardian/stances. Most of the time you are just reapplying Grenth’s Grasp and spamming adrenaline attacks.

Edit: But if you prefer spamming skills on recharge, just replace natural healing or swift javelin with adrenaline attacks and you should be able to spam like there’s no tomorrow. I, personally, prefer to have the utility of an unblockable attack and the defense of an extra healing spell in reserve, but that’s just me.

And 2 more energy pips and a bit of energy management from your enchants. The +2 to your spear mastery will not boost your damage much if you can't hit your attack skills as often as possible. I see no reason to run this on a paragon primary.
